Dinner for the Mind, Body, and Soul anyone?

I finally had the chance to check out Kahlil and Analei's Gratitude Cafe at 2nd in Fort with my soul sister Tracy. This place was awesome!

The moment we walked in, it was impossible not to feel all the positive energy of the place. This place not only offers a healthy menu, they offer spiritual health as well. They have meditation classes and mentoring sessions, which would cost you 5 good deeds and zero pesos.

I love how they put in the nutritional contents of everything on the menu as I've started calorie counting as well. Even the menu itself brings in so much positivity! I decided to order the I am Energized, which is basically a hearty serving of chicken noodle soup and french bread, all for 90 bucks and Tracy got her usual tea.

When we walked in, were greeted by a huge glass board that asks the question "What are you grateful for?". Tracy ran for the markers with a huge smile on her face. They also had a little bookshelf in the corner that had wonderful titles. I strongly recommend everyone to get a copy of The Book of Answers.

Our servers also gave us a bowl of paper scrolls that had motivational quotes. Look at what Tracy got:

All in all, it was a really lovely experience. I walked out the door feeling extremely positive and yes, grateful. Life is beautiful!

Good vibes everyone!

Miso Happy!

Ok so due to this weekend's SuperSale Bazaar, I have not been able to stick to my 3x/week gym commitment (but come to think of it, walking around Rockwell tent and standing around for hours is like cardio, no?). But so far, I'm still pretty happy with this lifestyle change. I have not eaten any beef, pork, and white rice for a little over a week and boy oh boy do I feel great! I used to feel guilty after every meal since I'd always get that really heavy unbutton-your-pants feeling but now every meal has been a delight.

I've been waking up everyday with a lighter feeling, which means that getting up in the morning isn't much of a struggle anymore. I don't get sleepy in the afternoon and surprisingly, I have so much energy to do more things!

I found it easier to jump start my healthier eating habits with Japanese food since the menu doesn't "substitute" anything and it's still very much real food. Edamame beans are such a treat and I've always loved miso soup anyway. Plus crabsticks are a personal favorite.

This week, I wanna check out Kahlil Bagatsing and Analei Atienza's Gratitude Cafe. Will update you guys on how it goes. Meanwhile, you can check out some Healthy Japanese Recipes first.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Let's all enjoy this workweek!

Time For Change

With all the hustle and bustle of daily city living, we could all benefit from a little inner peace. And as with working out physically, there's no such thing as spot reducing. Attaining inner peace is a holistic process, which means that one has to be mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy to live the fullest life possible.

This blog aims to explore what the country has to offer when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. We will be talking about food, places, activities, and even other web sites that would help put us in the path of health.

It's time for change, city dwellers!
